Toyota Supra and BMW vehicles with the ZF 8HP51 family of transmissions have an "E" hub that is made from cast A380 aluminum. This material is easy for OEM's to cast and machine but will fail in performance and high mileage applications. The splines of the hub will wear or shear completely off . On the opposite side the steel clutch plates will dig into the splines causing hang up or slower apply and release times and burn up the clutches. This can happen even in mild performance applications.
ATI's new in house design and American made part starts life as billet 7075 aluminum. Improvements were made to all weak areas with better radii and more material. There are more oil passages and slots to allow maximum flow as well. This part has been race proven for more than a year now and will fit some 8HP45 with the same OEM PN
